In a video that has gone global, the terror group ‘Lone Wolf’ to act out” in India Pakistan much awaiting match said Patrick Ryder, the Police Commissioner of Nassau County where the match is scheduled for June 6.
Ryder explained the nature of the threat, which has evolved since April. Initially, it was a broad, international threat from ISIS-Khorasan, but it recently became more specific to the India-Pakistan match.
“Lone Wolves” are individuals who are either members or sympathizers of terrorist organizations. They operate independently, taking cues from these organizations, which makes them harder to track down.
On Wednesday, New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced that she has instructed the New York State Police to implement heightened security measures, which include increasing law enforcement presence, enhancing surveillance, and conducting thorough screening processes.
Meanwhile Bruce Blakeman, the head of Nassau County bordering New York City, emphasized during a news conference, “We ensure that we are vigilant regarding any potential situations that may arise. To this end, we have implemented numerous precautions.”
