DHA Robbery Four Polish Tourists Robbed of $1,080 Near Kh. Mujahid

-

With safety concerns mounting in Karachi, a troubling incident unfolded as foreign tourists were robbed by assailants dressed as police officers in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), officials confirmed on Tuesday.

The four Polish tourists, who arrived on Sunday, were targeted near Khayaban-e-Mujahid, where they were robbed of $1,080 (Rs300,942) according to police sources.

The group, en route to Dolmen Mall in Clifton for SIM cards, encountered the robbers. Disheartened by Karachi’s deteriorating security, they left the country the next day without filing a formal complaint.

Police stated, “Statements from the foreign nationals have been collected,” adding that the tourists declined to officially report the incident.

Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice, requesting a report from Karachi’s additional inspector general. He condemned the crime, stating, “Looting foreigners harms the country’s dignity,” and urged swift action to bring the culprits to justice. The chief minister also emphasized the need for a safe city project to enhance surveillance on key streets and highways.
