Meet Apollo The Record Breaking Parrot With his extraordinary Naming Skill

-

Meet Apollo, the African grey parrot who’s taking the internet by storm with his extraordinary naming skills.

With 2.8 million followers on TikTok, Apollo has become a social media sensation, proving that birds can be more than just pretty feathered friends.

Apollo recently set a Guinness World Record for identifying 12 items in just three minutes—a feat that left his fans in awe.

Among the items he named were a Wario toy, a cork, and a bottle, showcasing his impressive range and memory.

His owners, Dalton and Victoria Mason, are not just bird enthusiasts but content creators on a mission to highlight the remarkable intelligence of animals. They’re hoping to redefine the term “bird brain” with Apollo’s achievements.

The Masons discovered Apollo in December 2020 at a local pet shop and felt an instant connection. Besides his TikTok stardom, Apollo also has 1.37 million YouTube followers on the channel “Apollo and Frens.”

To keep Apollo sharp, the Masons use engaging training sessions and reward him with his favorite treat—pistachios.

They employ Dr. Irene Pepperberg’s model-rival method, which was used to train another famous parrot, Alex, to show that parrots can communicate and learn in ways beyond simple mimicry.

With such a bright future ahead, the Masons are thrilled about Apollo’s potential and believe he’s just scratching the surface of his abilities. Who knows what incredible feats Apollo will accomplish next?
