Donny Roelvink shares moment of reciting Kalma in a mosque on Instagram
Donny Roelvink, a well-known Dutch actor model and influencer , made headlines recently when he publicly announced his conversion to Islam.
Documenting his spiritual journey, he shared the profound moment of reciting the Kalma in a mosque on Instagram. Roelvink said that he was in search of spirituality after facing many challenges in his life.
Roelvink was badly injured during a shoot as a car stuck him and damaged his ribs last year. He was also diagnosed with cancer but healed after complex treatment. Currently, he is in UAE where he visited many mosques and observed the whole month of Ramazan closely in a mosque and he finally accepted Islam.
In a video that has gone viral, the 26-year-old declared his conversion to Islam on April 19.
“I think not many people have noticed that I had a special day yesterday,” Roelvink said in a video message posted to Instagram.
“Images were taken of this, posted online and widely reported in the media. That was to be expected when I do that in the presence of a large group of people.”
Based on statistics conducted by the Pew Statistics Center, Islam has the fastest-growing worldwide population of any religion. The number of Muslims is predicted to rise at a rate more than twice as fast as the world population between 2015 and 2060.
