289 Feeders Tripped in Lahore Due to Heavy Rain – Widespread Power Outrages Due to Heavy Rain

-

Heavy rain in Lahore has caused widespread power outages, leaving several areas without electricity since Thursday morning.

The affected areas include the Walled City, Ferozepur Road, Gulberg, Shalamar Town, Jail Road, and Mughalpura.

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) reported that 289 feeders have tripped due to the rain, and restoration efforts are ongoing. Despite the LESCO staff being out in the field for maintenance, electricity has not yet been restored.

The prolonged power outage has severely disrupted routine life and businesses in the city. Traders expressed frustration, stating that the lack of electricity since morning has disrupted their operations and forced them to wait for power to be restored.

A LESCO spokesperson assured that efforts are being made to restore electricity as soon as possible and urged residents and businesses to be patient during this time.

The heavy rain and subsequent power outage have highlighted the need for improved infrastructure and maintenance to handle such weather-related disruptions in the future.
