Routes Sealed, Checks Tight — 11,000+ Police Personnel on Duty
Karachi has gone into full security mode for the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), with the police rolling out extraordinary, foolproof arrangements across the city. A massive force of 11,479 officers and personnel will be on duty to ensure peace and safety.
As per police figures, 1,113 personnel will guard 642 imambargahs, 2,901 officers will secure 501 majalis, and a whopping 7,465 cops will watch over 108 mourning processions. Roads leading to the main procession routes will be completely sealed, with Nishtar Park and its surroundings under extra-tight security.
Additional IG Karachi has ordered all SHOs to stay in their areas and ramp up patrolling, snap-checking, and picketing. Sensitive sites, public spots, and important buildings are on high alert.
City entry and exit points will face tougher checks, while the Bomb Disposal Squad will sweep and clear procession routes and key locations. Advance intelligence gathering will be stepped up, with swift sharing of information at the station level. The police chief has made it clear: any lapse in security will not be tolerated.
