Pakistan has been awarded the title of ‘Tech Destination of the Year’ at GITEX Global 2024, recognizing the country’s rapidly growing technology sector.
The honor was announced at the event, which features representation from the Pakistan Software Export Board.
This accolade highlights Pakistan’s increasing prominence in the global tech landscape, following its active participation in previous GITEX editions.

GITEX Global is one of the most significant technology exhibitions in the world, held annually in Dubai, UAE, and this year marks its 44th edition.
The event takes place at the Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai Harbour, showcasing over 40 halls filled with innovations in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, mobility, and sustainable technology.
The exhibition attracts tech giants, startups, investors, and industry leaders from around the globe, providing a vital platform for displaying innovations, discussing emerging trends, and fostering collaboration.
Pakistan’s IT and ITeS companies, which export services to 170 countries, offer a compelling value proposition, providing services at operational costs up to 70% lower than those in North America.
Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Minister of State for IT & Telecommunication, commented on the recognition, stating,
