Traders vs. FBR — Business community Announces Nationwide Strike on July 19

-

Enough is enough! We Pay Tax, Not Price of Harassment!”

Pakistan’s business community has drawn a red line — July 19 will be a complete shutdown across the country in protest against the FBR’s unchecked powers.

“Enough is enough!” declared FPCCI President Atif Ikram, announcing the strike alongside Karachi Chamber’s Javed Bilwani. The move comes after the government empowered FBR under Sections 37A and 37B, which traders call a license to harass.

All Major Chambers Join In

From Karachi to Lahore, Faisalabad to Rawalpindi, chambers across Pakistan are standing united. Shutters will be down, businesses closed.

“We’ll Lead From the Front” — FPCCI

Atif Ikram vowed to lead the strike, saying the business community won’t tolerate laws that crush commerce. “We’re not just supporting it — we’re owning it.”

Bilwani Fires Warning Shot

This is a token strike — for now. But if the government doesn’t listen, we’ll take it nationwide and indefinite,” warned Bilwani.

Bottom Line: “Tax with Respect — Not Intimidation”

The message is loud and clear: Traders are ready to pay tax — but not at the cost of their dignity.

Strike day: July 19.
Battle line: Business community vs. FBR’s iron fist.
