In his latest book, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson offers fascinating insights into his meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden during the 2021 G7 summit in Cornwall.
Johnson disclosed that President Biden declined to board a British aircraft carrier during his 2021 visit to the UK, providing specific reasons for his choice.
As reported by the British newspaper The Telegraph, Johnson recounted his meeting with Biden ahead of the G7 summit in Cornwall. An excerpt from his book Unleashed reveals the surprise felt by Johnson and his aides when the 78-year-old Biden opted not to board the carrier.
In his book, Johnson mentions that Biden’s team conveyed that he would not board the large aircraft carrier due to various concerns, which raised questions about his fitness. Additionally, Johnson pointed out that Biden appeared to be somewhat charmed by his wife, Carrie, who was 33 at the time.
According to Johnson, President Biden attended the summit alongside his wife, Jill Biden. Biden humorously proposed that he and Carrie (Boris Johnson’s wife) could take a stroll on the beach, leaving “this man” behind.
As recounted in Johnson’s book, Biden addressed Carrie, saying, “Why don’t you and I go for a walk on the beach and leave this man here?”
