In a move that stunned many, Donald Trump hosted a Ramadan Iftar at the White House, marking the first of his second term, and openly acknowledged the crucial support of Muslim Americans in the 2024 presidential election.

“Ramadan Mubarak,” Trump greeted attendees in the State Dining Room, where Muslim leaders, diplomats, and officials, including Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US, Rizwan Saeed, gathered for the occasion.

“Muslim Americans Had My Back—Now I Have Yours”
Trump praised the Muslim community’s role in his victory, saying, “You were there for us in November, and I’ll be there for you.” He emphasized his administration’s commitment to the Middle East, vowing to build on the Abraham Accords, a peace initiative launched during his previous presidency.
Gaza War, Ceasefire, and Trump’s Controversial Plan
Many Muslim voters turned against Kamala Harris in the election, protesting the Biden administration’s support for Israel’s war on Gaza. Some credited Trump’s diplomatic push for helping secure a ceasefire, although it occurred before he took office.
However, Israel shattered the truce earlier this month, unleashing a new wave of attacks that have killed hundreds of Palestinians. While Trump continues to stand firmly with Israel, his controversial proposal to take control of Gaza and relocate 2 million Palestinians has sparked global outrage.
As Trump begins his second term, his promises to Muslim Americans and his stance on the Middle East will define the road ahead.
