Malaysia: Lee Thiam Wah, a 60-year-old disabled entrepreneur from Malaysia, has been featured in Fortune magazine’s list of billionaires, with his wealth estimated at $2.8 billion.

Lee is the owner of the popular mini-market chain “99 Speed Mart” in Malaysia. His journey to success began humbly, selling small items at a roadside stall after facing rejection in the job market due to his disability.

In 1987, Lee opened his first grocery store, which gradually expanded into a nationwide chain of 2,600 stores. Despite the challenges, Lee’s determination turned his small business into a leading company in the retail sector.

Lee Thiam Wah now plans to expand 99 Speed Mart further, with the goal of reaching 3,000 stores within the next three years. His inspiring story of resilience and entrepreneurship has garnered international recognition.
