At 102 years old, Manette Baillie has redefined living life to the fullest by becoming Britain’s oldest skydiver.
She celebrated her birthday with a remarkable jump from an aircraft.
Baillie undertook the skydive to raise funds for three charities dear to her: the East Anglian Air Ambulance, Motor Neurone Disease Association, and Benhall Village Hall. So far, she has raised £9,000 of her £30,000 goal.
Reflecting on the jump, Baillie said, “When the door opened, I knew it was time to jump.”
She confessed to being in shock and not remembering much, noting, “I watched my legs disappear and everything seemed very fast…I closed my eyes.”
Supporters at the Suffolk airfield cheered her as she landed safely. Baillie’s record leap not only secures her place in history but also shows that adventure and innovation are possible at any age.
