In a powerful reminder of Pakistan’s unwavering resolve, the ISPR has unveiled the heartbreaking toll from the recent border clashes.

Eleven soldiers, including six army personnel and five air force officials, gave their lives in defense of the homeland, while 78 others were wounded during Operation Bunyan-un-Marsus on May 6 and 7.

Pride of the Nation -11 Soldiers 40 Civilians Martyred in Clashes Against India

Tensions flared after India held Pakistan responsible for the Pahalgam attack, triggering a fierce military escalation. In the dead of night between May 6 and 7, India launched a wave of airstrikes under the banner of Operation Sindoor, resulting in tragic civilian casualties on Pakistani soil. The week-long standoff saw both sides exchange missile fire, bringing the region to the edge of catastrophe — until American diplomacy brokered a fragile ceasefire.

According to the ISPR, India’s aggression claimed 40 innocent civilian lives, including seven women and 15 children, and left 121 others wounded. Yet, amid the devastation, the Pakistan Armed Forces fought back with unshakable resolve under Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, responding with precision strikes as part of Marka-i-Haq — the battle for truth.

Among the fallen heroes were Pakistan Army’s Naik Abdul Rehman, Lance Naik Dilawar Khan, Lance Naik Ikramullah, Naik Waqar Khalid, Sepoy Muhammad Adeel Akbar, and Sepoy Nisar.

From the Pakistan Air Force, Squadron Leader Usman Yousuf, Chief Technician Aurangzeb, Senior Technician Najeeb, Corporal Technician Farooq, and Senior Technician Mubashir also embraced martyrdom with pride.

“These martyrs are not just names,” declared the ISPR. “They are the beating heart of a nation that refuses to bow, a testament to loyalty, courage, and sacrifice.” The armed forces vowed that any threat to Pakistan’s sovereignty would be met with an overwhelming and decisive response — now and always.

Their blood has written a new chapter of defiance — one the enemy will never forget.
To honour their valor, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared May 10 as Youm-e-Marka-i-Haq, to be observed every year in remembrance of this national stand. This May 16, the country will unite to salute its defenders and bow in prayer, not just for victory — but for the martyrs who made it possible.
