MUSCAT: Oman’s stunning beauty is now just a click away, thanks to the launch of its virtual tour service. This innovative project allows anyone around the world to explore the country’s iconic landscapes and modern infrastructure without ever leaving home.
With the help of advanced “Trekkers” devices, the Ministry of Transport has already captured around 36,000 kilometers of breathtaking imagery, offering an immersive experience of Oman’s wonders.
The first phase of the virtual tour features famous landmarks like Khor Rori, a UNESCO World Heritage site, aiming to promote Oman as a top cultural and natural tourist destination.
Under the patronage of Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser Al Zaabi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense, the government is keen to enhance Oman’s digital presence and provide easy access for global audiences to explore its unique heritage.
Looking ahead, the project will expand in 2025, adding more sites and landmarks to further showcase Oman’s diverse beauty.
