Someone Paid $1.49 Million for a Replica Iron Throne from ‘Game of Thrones’

An auction featuring iconic Game of Thrones memorabilia attracted global attention.

Other key items sold at the auction included three versions of Jon Snow’s Valyrian steel sword, “Longclaw,” with a jeweled version going for $400,000. Jon’s Night’s Watch outfit sold for $337,500, alongside famous props like a White Walker display and a dragon egg presented to Daenerys Targaryen.

The famous “Iron Throne,” a symbol of power from the hit series, was sold for $1.49 million at a Heritage auction, where nearly 4,500 bidders competed.

After just six minutes of bidding, a buyer was confirmed, though their identity remains undisclosed. The replica throne will now become a prized possession in their home.

The Iron Throne, made of plastic and adorned with jewels and swords symbolizing the king’s conquests, stands as an iconic piece from the series.

Game of Thrones, based on George R.R. Martin’s novel A Song of Ice and Fire, has aired five highly acclaimed seasons on HBO. The series depicts an ancient world, with the Iron Throne representing ultimate powGame of Throneser, and numerous battles fought for its control.
