The 25th Asia ITCN expo has launched in Karachi, marking a pivotal moment for Pakistan’s tech industry.
As the nation’s largest IT and telecom event, it is set to be a major hub for innovation and investment.
Taking place from August 28 to August 29 at the Expo Center Karachi, the expo is expected to attract over $500 million in investments and business opportunities, significantly impacting Pakistan’s economy.
Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori inaugurated the event, which features 500 stalls from a diverse range of national and international companies.
With 80,000 registrations, the expo saw 25,000 participants on its first day. Governor Tessori toured the stalls and reviewed various IT products.
This year’s event includes the second World CIO 200 Summit, a global forum held in 55 countries.
The three-day expo showcases 750 companies, including prominent global and local brands such as Google, TikTok, Microsoft, Huawei, PTCL, and EasyPaisa.
The event is expected to host over 300 speakers and more than 70,000 attendees, including 350 international delegates from 17 countries like Saudi Arabia, China, Singapore, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Iran, Egypt, and the UAE.
Umair Nizam, ITCN Asia Event Director, highlighted the rapid expansion of Pakistan’s IT sector, noting rising exports and the growth of local companies in international markets.
He also pointed out the increasing presence of global firms in Pakistan, which supports technology transfer to local industries and individuals.
Presented as Tech Destination Pakistan, the event is backed by the Ministry of IT and Telecom, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), and the Federation of Pakistan.
Organizers noted that the government’s vision is propelling the country towards improved economic and governance systems through digital transformation and technological progress.
