The Pakistan Cricket Board has unveiled plans for fan park at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, enabling fans to immerse themselves in the eagerly-awaited T20 World Cup 2024 clash between India and Pakistan, despite the match taking place thousands of kilometers away at New York’s Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. This initiative aims to extend the thrill of the game to Rawalpindi, providing fans with a large screen experience to rally behind their team, the Green Shirts, on June 9.
Similar fan parks will be established in 10 other locations, including Cedar Creek Park in Seaford, New York, and the Indira Gandhi Indoor Arena in New Delhi, India.
The Rawalpindi fan park will open its doors 90 minutes before the game and will remain open until 60 minutes after its conclusion. This announcement underscores the ICC’s dedication to broadening the reach of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, with a groundbreaking nine live sites spread across five countries. With 22 matches scheduled to be broadcasted in cities such as New York City, New Delhi, and Rawalpindi, this World Cup will boast the highest number of fan parks ever seen.
These fan parks promise a range of entertainment options, from live music to food stalls, cricket celebrities, and family-friendly activities, ensuring an unforgettable experience for cricket enthusiasts worldwide.
