Operation Clean Up in Cricket Team : PCB Plans Complete Overhauling after T20 World Cup

  • PCB Plans Major Team Reshuffle .
  • Players involved in dressingroom politics will be excluded .
  • Babar Azam’s Captaincy is under scrutiny .

Preparations have begun for a thorough “Operation Clean Up” within the national cricket team. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has engaged with board officials, associates, and former cricketers to address team challenges.

The agreement is to exclude players engaged in internal politics and to omit underperformers following the T20 World Cup.

This decisive action is slated to occur after Pakistan’s T20 World Cup campaign wraps up. Sources suggest that at least six players are poised to be omitted.

Reports indicate that certain players have secured spots in the squad due to their close relationship with the captain, despite their subpar performances. Concerns have surfaced regarding Babar Azam’s captaincy, including criticisms of his leadership and decision-making abilities.

Furthermore, the fact that several top cricketers share the same management company has raised concerns about potential undue influence. The PCB Chairman intends to hold a press conference to address these issues in a general manner, avoiding specific player references.

Increased factionalism within the PCB has led to changes in various departments. Naqvi plans to team up with former cricketers to enhance team performance. However, some players believe these issues should have been tackled after the World Cup.
