Sethi Offers Neutral Venue as Alternative
The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, Najam Sethi, has stated that Pakistan will not give up its right to host the Asia Cup, despite India’s refusal to travel to Pakistan for the tournament. Sethi presented a hybrid model at the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting last month and offered a neutral venue as an alternative if India did not wish to play in Pakistan. Losing hosting rights would result in a significant financial loss for the PCB, according to Sethi. The Asia Cup is expected to be played in September this year in a 50-over format, but the ongoing political differences between the two countries continue to create uncertainty.
