The official kit for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 was unveiled by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday during a ceremony in Lahore.
The national squad, led by white-ball captain Babar Azam and including senior players such as Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan, showcased the new “Matrix Jersey” in a video shared on X by the cricket board.
The video featured players like Saim Ayub, Naseem Shah, and Babar engaging in drills, culminating in all the players donning the new jersey for the upcoming ICC event.
Pakistan is placed in Group A of the World Cup alongside India, Ireland, Canada, and co-hosts the United States.
In preparation for their T20I series against Ireland, the Pakistan team will depart tomorrow.
Their schedule includes three T20Is in Ireland, followed by four in England. Following the England series, they will head to the United States for the T20 World Cup.
The 18-player squad named for the Ireland and England T20Is will be trimmed to 15 players for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 after the first T20I against England on May 22.
Initially, the squad submission deadline was May 1, but teams have until the 25th of the same month to make changes, subject to approval from the event’s technical committee.
Twenty qualifying teams are divided into four groups of five, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Super 8 round. From there, the top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals, with the winners facing off in the final on June 29.
