Legendary Sohail Abbas Signs on to Boost Malaysian Hockey

-

Sohail Abbas, a legendary figure in field hockey, is set to share his expertise in Malaysia.

The celebrated penalty corner specialist from Pakistan has signed a one-year contract with the Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) to help improve players’ drag-flicking techniques.

With an impressive record of 348 goals in 311 international matches, Sohail is Pakistan’s all-time leading goal-scorer and has previously declined coaching offers from the Pakistan Hockey Federation.

He will work alongside head coach Surjit Singh to boost the Malaysian team’s penalty corner conversion rates. While he has maintained some distance from the national hockey scene, Sohail’s insights are poised to greatly enhance the Malaysian squad’s performance.

His participation is anticipated to elevate Malaysian hockey to new heights.
