Exciting news for cricket fans as South African cricketer Rassie van der Dussen has officially signed up for the upcoming HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft.
The inclusion of the talented middle-order batsman is expected to bring a wealth of international experience and elevate the level of competition in the league.
Van der Dussen, 35, has been a key player for South Africa in recent years, excelling in both limited-overs and Test formats. Over his career, he has represented the Proteas in 18 Tests, 68 ODIs, and 50 T20Is, accumulating a total of 4626 runs across all formats. His tally includes six centuries and 29 half-centuries, showcasing his consistency and skill.
The right-handed batter also has an extensive record in T20 cricket, having played 211 matches and scoring 6075 runs at an impressive strike rate of 131.86. In these appearances, he has hit five centuries and 39 fifties, further cementing his reputation as a formidable player in the format.
Van der Dussen is no stranger to the PSL, having represented Islamabad United in the 2023 edition and Lahore Qalandars in 2024. His PSL record is equally impressive, with 512 runs in 13 innings at an average of 46.54 and a strike rate of 145.86. His contributions include one century and three fifties, underscoring his impact in the league.
The South African cricketer is now the third South African and the 20th foreign player to register for the PSL 10 draft. The highly anticipated draft is set to take place in Gwadar, Balochistan, on January 11, 2025, marking the first time the event will be hosted in the city.
