Asjad Iqbal Defeats Malkeet Singh to Reach Snooker Championship Final

Pakistani cueist Asjad Iqbal has made his mark on the international snooker scene by securing a place in the finals of the IBSF World Six Red Snooker Championship.

In the semi-finals held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Iqbal delivered a stunning performance against Indian player Malkeet Singh, winning decisively with a score of 6-0 on Tuesday.

He dominated every frame, with scores of 49-18, 38-34, 46-13, 40-31, 52-13, and 45-0. Iqbal is set to compete in the championship final on Wednesday.

Earlier in the tournament, Iqbal advanced to the pre-quarters, while his compatriot Awais Muneer reached the last 20 of the IBSF World 6 Red Snooker Championship 2024.

In his second-day matches, Iqbal defeated India’s Pandurangaiah E 4-1 (41-32, 35-36, 75-08, 50(50)-09, 35-22), while Muneer triumphed over Singapore’s Jia Jun Ong with a similar score of 4-1 (63-0, 65-0, 0-56, 36-02, 35-26).

Iqbal later edged out Iraq’s Alijalil Ali in a close 4-3 match (39-23, 30-34, 66-0, 0-41, 1-54, 39-29, 63(58)-0). However, Muneer faced a narrow defeat against Israel’s Shachar Ruberg, losing 4-3 (16-43(43), 53-12, 43(43)-13, 8-64(64), 33-21, 12-40, 40-10).
