Renowned Pakistani actor Bushra Ansari caused a stir on social media by posting a photo of herself draped in a shawl inscribed with verses from the celebrated poet Allama Iqbal, just before her appearance on a Ramazan program for a news channel.
In a clever quip, Ansari highlighted the significance of the poetic verses, humorously remarking in the Instagram post’s caption, “Allama Iqbal’s poetry on my shawl. If you know how to read Urdu, you will understand.”
Timely intervention by law enforcement, under the guidance of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi from Gulberg Circle, effectively curbed further escalation of the situation and ensured the woman’s safety.
In this context, Ansari’s pointed commentary serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by both widespread violence and ignorance. While some may view her actions as bold, the veteran actor, known for her light-hearted humor and candid remarks, offered her take on phone etiquette in a recent episode of her vlog, “Delete With Love.”
According to Ansari, she implements a strict “three strikes and you’re out” policy when it comes to unanswered calls. “If someone doesn’t pick up my call after the third time, I block and delete them,” she declared unapologetically.
For Ansari, this action doesn’t mean cutting ties completely; rather, it’s a matter of removing them from her phone contacts. She acknowledges the constant distractions faced by the younger generation but believes the older generation should prioritize communication. To her, the third unanswered call signals a lack of interest, prompting her to remove them from her phone for the benefit of both parties.
