No doubt, Behroze Sabzwari is known for being outspoken, often voicing his opinions on various issues. But when you speak too much, you sometimes cross the line—and that’s exactly what happened when he blamed women for the rising divorce rate.
During a morning show on a private TV channel, the veteran actor commented on the increasing trend of divorces, attributing it to excessive pampering of girls.
He said, “I attend weddings where 200 million rupees are spent, yet these marriages end within days or months.”
Behroze Sabzwari noted that today’s marriage dynamics have changed, with parents overly spoiling their daughters and promising them a life of royalty. “They tell them, ‘Don’t worry, you’ll be treated like a queen; we spent 100 million on your wedding.’”
According to him, this results in women developing a sense of entitlement, making independent decisions. However, no matter how modern a husband may be, he remains his parents’ son. He emphasized that the primary reason behind divorces is the attitude of girls and their parents.
Praising his son, Behroze Sabzwari expressed gratitude, saying, “May Allah bless everyone with a son, husband, and father like mine.” He credited his wife for their son’s good upbringing and his family’s close-knit bond. He also commended his daughter-in-law, Sadaf Kanwal, for uniting the family and winning everyone’s hearts, from the youngest child to the elders.
