Sindh has approved 500 electric buses to modernize Karachi’s transit system. This initiative aims to reduce congestion and pollution while benefiting the city’s growing population. Additionally, 300 diesel-hybrid buses are planned for five other Sindh divisions, with 60 buses allocated per division to enhance connectivity and provide an affordable, eco-friendly transport option

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has emphasized the need for these improvements to ease the strain on Karachi’s public transport. In a recent meeting with provincial ministers and other officials, he urged the swift finalization of paperwork for the electric bus project, which seeks to enhance the efficiency of public transport in the city.

Moreover, the Yellow Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project is set to further transform the transit landscape in Karachi.
