The Sindh government has intensified its efforts to address Karachi’s infrastructure and transportation challenges, according to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
The Chief Minister announced that road repairs commenced following the recent rains, with the Sindh government already releasing Rs1.5 billion to the Municipal Corporation for these repairs.
He stated that Rs200 billion is being invested in various projects across Karachi, with significant progress on key transport initiatives, according to Express News. The government is aiming to complete the Red and Yellow Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects to improve the city’s transportation network.
Murad Ali Shah also revealed that talks have resumed with Chinese officials through the federal government to revive the Karachi Circular Railway, promising that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will soon deliver this long-awaited project to the public.
He highlighted that the completion of the Malir Expressway will further enhance traffic flow and alleviate congestion. Additionally, plans are underway for another expressway connecting Karachi Port to Jam Sadiq Bridge.
The Chief Minister expressed optimism, stating that with the completion of key transport, road infrastructure, the Safe City project, and the K-4 water project, Karachi is poised to transform into a leading, modern city.
