Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has given her approval to the Roshan Gharana program, aimed at providing solar power systems to millions of people in the province.
Here are the program details:
Eligibility Criteria:
Customers who consume between 50 to 500 units of electricity monthly.
Priority Recipients:
Phase I of the project will prioritize the poorest families for receiving solar panels.
Cost Sharing:
The Punjab government will cover 90% of the cost of the solar panels, while consumers will be responsible for the remaining 10%.
System Capacity Determination:
The ratio between electricity supplied by the government and that generated from the solar system will be decided based on the users’ needs.
