The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has declared a public holiday on the 1st of Muharram to celebrate the Islamic New Year.
This decision was confirmed by a notification from the Administrative Affairs Department on Thursday.
The notification specifies that all government offices, educational institutions, and businesses will be closed on this day to honor the start of the Islamic calendar’s first month.
