The Pakistan Transporters Association Alliance has issued an ultimatum to the Sindh government, stating that if their demands are not met by December 24, they will block all of Karachi.
During a press conference at Karachi Press Club, transport leader Liaquat Khan Masood stated that the ban on dumpers entering the city has destroyed their livelihoods, leaving 60,000 people unemployed.
Transport leader Shams Shahwani said that the Sindh government has not created any bypass routes for heavy vehicles to travel outside the city, and the roads around the National Highway are in a dilapidated condition.
Shams Shahwani further stated that they pay 30 million rupees monthly at toll plazas and also pay excise and other taxes, yet they are being prevented from doing business.
He added that if negotiations are not held by Tuesday, they will block all roads in Karachi, and no oil tankers, Mazdas, or dumpers will operate in the city.
The transport leaders warned that they would park all their vehicles and hand over the keys to the Sindh government, asking them to operate them themselves.
