Shah Latif Police Captures Gunpoint Robbery Suspects

-

Shah Latif police recently apprehended two suspects involved in a robbery where victims were forced at gunpoint to transfer money through banking apps.

The suspects had earlier robbed a citizen in Shah Latif Town, taking Rs20,000 in cash and a mobile phone. They then forced the victim to unlock the phone and transferred Rs300,000 using an online banking app before fleeing the scene. The victim promptly reported the crime to Shah Latif police, who acted quickly and arrested the suspects.

In a separate incident, four foreign nationals, including a woman, were reportedly robbed in the upscale Clifton area on October 30. According to a senior police officer, the Polish nationals involved in the robbery left Pakistan without filing a police report.

The crime came to light after a video of the incident went viral on social media, prompting a response from both the police and the Sindh government. The Chief Minister criticized the police chief, while the home minister urged his department to improve their efforts.

The video, recorded by a bystander from his car at a safe distance, shows a suspect stopping the four foreigners under the pretense of asking for directions. The suspect then steals dollars and other valuables from the victims and assaults one of them, leaving him slightly injured.

SSP South Sajid Saduzai confirmed that the Polish nationals did not contact the police and are believed to have already left the country. However, following the release of the video, the police launched an investigation. The vehicle used in the robbery is registered to a private company, and the investigation is ongoing. SSP Saduzai also clarified that the suspects were wearing security guard uniforms, not police uniforms as some reports suggested.
