Traffic Chaos and Essential Shortages as Protests Over Parachinar Incident Paralyze City

Protests organized by a religious group in Karachi, triggered by the Parachinar incident, have caused significant disruptions across the city, with major roads being blocked and citizens facing considerable hardships.

The protests are taking place at 13 different locations across Karachi, leading to severe traffic suspensions and congestion.

Kamran Chowrangi, Gulistan-e-Johar: Traffic redirected from Meteorological to University Road due to protests.

Sirajani Shamsuddin Azimi Road: Ongoing protests causing road blockages and traffic disruptions.

Nawab Sadiq Khan Road: Protest site leading to significant traffic suspension.

Nazimabad Number 1: Protests causing severe traffic congestion in the area.

Nazimabad 2: Traffic diverted from Lasbela to Teen Hatti as a result of protests.

Shahrah-e-Pakistan (near Ancholi): Traffic rerouted from Water Pump to Gulberg Chowrangi due to ongoing protests.

Shahrah-e-Faisal (near Star Gate): Protests causing traffic congestion along both roads from Carsaz to Drug Road.

National Highway (near Township): Sit-in blocking the road, with traffic diverted from Thatta via Link Road to Port Qasim.

MA Jinnah Road (Numaish Chowrangi): Traffic redirected from PP Chowrangi to Guru Mandir and Soldier Bazaar due to protests.

Abul Hasan Isphahani Road (near Abbas Town): Protest site affecting traffic flow.

University Road (near Safari Park): Ongoing protests causing road closures and disruptions.

North Nazimabad (Five Star Chowrangi): Protest ongoing, with traffic diverted to service roads.

Malir 15 Bridge (National Highway): Traffic diverted from Malir Halt to Model Colony and from Manzil Pump to Younus Chowrangi.

Korangi and Jamshid Road: Both roads blocked due to protests, causing major traffic disruptions.Traffic redirected to Peoples Chowrangi, Jehangir Road and Benori Town.

Gurumandir, Peoples Chowrangi, Jamshed Road, and Jail Chowrangi are facing major traffic disruptions.

In addition, Shaheed-e-Millat Road, Soldier Bazar, University Road, and nearby areas have also been heavily congested, leaving commuters stuck and struggling to get home from work.

Reports indicate that what should have been short trips turned into hours-long journeys due to severe traffic jams.

Meanwhile news from Parachinar is that despite negotiations by the Grand Peace Jirga between the conflicting parties, no final resolution has been reached. The ongoing protests have caused severe shortages of essential supplies, including medicines, in Parachinar, with hospitals reporting continuing deaths and people enduring hunger due to the road closures.
