Karachi — Trust shattered mid-terminal as a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employee was caught red-handed stealing a female passenger’s luggage at Jinnah International Airport Karachi.
The incident unfolded after PIA flight PK-305 arrived from Lahore. A female passenger reported her luggage missing—triggering a swift investigation that exposed Tariq Ali, a technician from PIA’s engineering department, as the culprit.
Sources say the drama escalated when Tariq resisted arrest, prompting a scuffle before airport authorities subdued him. The stolen bag was recovered intact, with assistance from the Karachi airport administration and ASF.
Tariq Ali has since been detained by the Airport Security Force, his entry pass revoked, and an internal PIA probe is now underway. The ASF is expected to submit a detailed report within days.
A shocking reminder that sometimes the threat isn’t from the sky—but from inside the system.
