Karachi’s Water Crisis – Residents Endure 21-Day Wait for Supply

-

Karachi’s Central District is grappling with an escalating water crisis, with areas like North Karachi, Shadman, and Bufferzone facing extreme shortages.

Residents in these neighborhoods now wait up to 21 days for a brief, 24-hour water supply window, leaving many reliant on costly water tankers, which they cannot afford.

“We don’t have the money for water tankers. How are we supposed to survive?” one frustrated resident of Makin, North Karachi, questioned.

The situation has led to growing protests, with locals voicing their anger over illegal hydrants worsening the crisis.

The unchecked tanker mafia continues to exploit the city’s water shortage, profiting at the expense of citizens, while Karachi’s aging water infrastructure struggles to keep up with demand.
