In response to growing health concerns, Jinnah International Airport in Karachi has ramped up its efforts to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
Over the past 24 hours, the airport has intensified its medical screenings to ensure the safety of passengers and the community.
The airport has conducted medical screenings on 22 flights to curb the spread of Congo and monkeypox viruses.
Dr. Syed Zafar Mehdi, the focal person at the airport, confirmed that no cases of monkeypox or its symptoms were found among the passengers.
He noted that the Sindh Health Department has assigned over 20 doctors and paramedics to the airport to assist with screenings.
Separate rooms have been set up for examining suspected passengers, and medical teams are working continuously to manage and monitor the situation effectively, he added.
