K–Electric staff were injured in an attack by residents of the Lines Area while conducting a disconnection operation to remove illegal power connections in Abysinia Lines. The injured workers were rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment.

Second Incident in Recent Days
This attack marks the second incident in a short span of time, with a similar assault on KE staff during a previous disconnection drive in the same area. Despite the challenges, K-Electric remains committed to tackling electricity theft, which has caused outstanding dues of over PKR 270 million.
FIRs Registered and Legal Action Pursued
K-Electric has registered FIRs and is taking strict legal action against those responsible for the attacks, vowing to continue its anti-theft operations with full force.
Earlier Attack on KE Team in Lyari’s Cheel Chowk
In a related incident, K-Electric and ARY teams were attacked by miscreants during an anti-theft operation in Lyari’s Cheel Chowk. Firearms were used to intimidate the teams, obstructing efforts to disconnect illegal power connections. Over Rs20 billion in outstanding dues are reported from the area.
KE’s Commitment to Ongoing Anti-Theft Campaign
Despite the attacks, K-Electric reaffirmed its dedication to fighting electricity theft and continuing operations until illegal practices are eliminated from Karachi.
