A political storm brews in Karachi as Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and Mayor Murtaza Wahab lock horns over the city’s pressing issues.
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has said that just as the Bushra Zaidi case led to the formation of MQM, the tragic death of Zainab, crushed by a water tanker, could give rise to a new force.
Speaking to the media in Malir, Karachi, Tessori expressed condolences to the bereaved family and stated, “You can try to remove me, but I will not stop speaking for the people.”
He announced that after Eid, he would allot a plot to each family who lost a loved one under a dumper truck.
He also urged local representatives, regardless of their party affiliation, to bring him a list of broken roads in their areas, promising to repair them with his own money.
Governor Tessori called on the Chief Justice to address the issue of fatalities caused by dumpers, tankers, and heavy traffic, urging him to pass a ruling on the matter.
He also announced plans to write a letter to the Chief Justice.
Earlier, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab criticized Tessori, stating that offering ostrich curry, distributing iPhones, and making hollow promises would not solve the city’s problems.
He added that if the governor truly wanted to improve Karachi, he should ensure that his party returns the illegally occupied lands taken through “China-cutting.”
