While the much-awaited Champions Trophy is still a month away, Karachi decided to kick things off early with its own high-speed spectacle – the Champions Donkey Cart Race! Organized by the Muslim Youth League, this event took racers on a wild ride from Maee Kolachi to Netti Jetti.
A total of 15 donkeys took part, and it was Surtaj, the four-legged speedster owned by Arif from Liaquatabad, who galloped to victory! Chitta Ustad claimed second place, while Nadeem’s donkey brought up the rear in third.
The winner got a cool one lakh rupees and a shiny trophy, the runner-up pocketed 50,000 rupees, and the third-place finisher took home 30,000 rupees. Everyone else? Well, they still walked away with 3,000 rupees each—because hey, no one leaves a donkey race empty-handed!
