Imran Khan vows to return to power through the ballot box in Karachi rally
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday held a rally in Karachi, Pakistan, vowing to return to power through the ballot box.
Khan, who was ousted from power in April through a no-confidence motion, addressed a large crowd of supporters at the rally. He accused the current government of corruption and mismanagement and said that he would bring it down through the power of the people.
“We will not accept this imported government,” Khan said.
Khan also said that he would hold a series of rallies across the country in the coming weeks. He said that he was confident that he would be able to return to power through the ballot box.
“We will win the next elections,” Khan said
The rally in Karachi was Khan’s first major public appearance since he was ousted from power. It was a show of strength for the former prime minister, who has been facing a tough challenge from the current government.
The government of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been struggling to address the country’s economic woes. Inflation has skyrocketed, and the rupee has fallen to record lows against the dollar.
Khan has blamed the government for the country’s economic problems, and he has vowed to fix them if he is returned to power.
The next general elections in Pakistan are due in 2023. It remains to be seen whether Khan will be able to make good on his promise to return to power.
