FIR Against Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman – Local Leaders Arrested in Punjab

-

Punjab police have filed an FIR against several Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leaders, including Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, following a protest that breached local regulations.

This demonstration was part of the party’s ongoing “Haq Do Awam” campaign, which has faced heightened scrutiny from law enforcement.

The FIR, filed by SI Khalid Hussain of the Iqbal Town police station, names nine leaders, including JI Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Ziauddin Ansari, Khalid Butt, Liaqat Baloch, and Ahmad Salman Baloch.

Police reports indicate that the protest caused a roadblock that significantly disrupted public traffic, leading to legal action against the participants.

JI Central Secretary General Amirul Azeem condemned the arrests made in various districts across the province, criticizing the Punjab Police for detaining party leaders and dismantling protest camps.

He pointed out that police had raided JI camps in districts like Khanewal, Rajanpur, and Okara, resulting in the arrest of local leaders. Azeem emphasized that such actions would not deter the movement.
