Street Opinion-Exclusive Survey Reveals Public Sentiment on PTI Protest

A recent survey conducted by the Institute for Public Opinion Research (IPOR) has shed light on the public’s perception of the PTI protest, and the results are telling. From opinions on the government’s response to the impact on daily life, here are the key findings:

  • Support for PTI Protest:
    • 68% of respondents unwilling to support PTI’s call to protest under any circumstances
    • 24% fully favour the PTI protest and would support it no matter the cost
    • 8% refrained from giving an opinion
  • Regarding Government Response:
    • 48% of respondents believe the government’s response to the protest was useless
    • 42% think the government’s response was absolutely correct
    • 10% did not give an opinion
  • Impact on Daily Life:
    • 82% of respondents said their daily affairs were severely affected by the protest and lockdown
    • 17% said it did not affect them
    • 1% did not answer
  • Business Impact:
    • 74% of respondents said their trade and income suffered due to the lockdown and protests
    • 24% said the opposite
    • 2% did not give an answer
  • Causes of Political Instability:
    • 66% of respondents believe political protests and rallies are the main cause of political instability
    • 26% disagree
    • 8% did not give an answer
  • Blame for Economic Impact:
    • 53% of respondents blame the government for the negative economic impact of the political crisis
    • 18% blame the PTI
    • 12% blame others
    • 17% did not give an opinion
  • Support for Peaceful Protests:
    • 73% of respondents fully support peaceful protests by any political party
    • 24% do not favour even peaceful protests
    • 0.3% did not give an opinion.
