Karachi: Swedish muralist Domi Farist, participating in the World Culture Festival at Karachi Arts Council, has not only impressed audiences with her symbolic wall murals but also fallen in love with Karachi’s palak paneer.
Domi is creating two large-scale murals highlighting love, nature, and human connection. She shared, “This is my first time in Pakistan, and the energy here is full of positivity and love.” She is also working with her assistants for the first time.
Explaining her art style, Domi said she uses symbolic elements like Viking ships, bear paws, children, and eyes to represent strength, protection, and the beginnings of life.
On Pakistani food, she happily commented,
“I’ve tried palak paneer in Sweden and India, but Karachi’s version is more flavorful and spicy—it’s incredible!”
