Bihar police have cracked a daring fake marriage racket, arresting nine people, including four women, who targeted vulnerable families in West Champaran.

The gang’s women posed as brides, infiltrating households and stealing valuables, cash, and jewelry within days, creating the illusion of a legitimate marriage.
Raids in the Mainatand area near Bettiah led to the seizure of a Bolero, two motorcycles, and nine mobile phones, which police are now analyzing for more leads. Initial investigations reveal that the women were often already married but played the role of fake brides for criminal purposes.
Authorities suspect the network may extend beyond Bihar into other states. All arrested individuals, including the ringleader Ali Ahmed, have been sent to judicial custody, while the police continue their probe to uncover the gang’s full operations.
This case highlights the rising threat of matrimonial fraud and the need for public vigilance.
