Pakistan has successfully developed its own locally manufactured ventilator. Named “Inovent,” this ventilator has been created by Essenz Industries in Karachi, with its clinical trials completed successfully.
According to the Drug Regulatory Authority officials, the Inovent ventilator has now been registered, with approval granted by the DRAP Medical Devices Division.
Essenz Industries has been awarded a five-year license for local production of the ventilator, which was approved following technical evaluations. With the license in hand, production has already begun, and the company plans to not only cater to local needs but also export the ventilator. Inovent is the result of expertise entirely from Pakistani professionals.
The ventilator has a shelf life of five years and is designed to be suitable for elderly patients.
The company is confident that Inovent will boost national exports, contributing significantly to foreign exchange and helping position Pakistan’s medical device industry on the global map.
