Casting director Mukesh Chhabra revealed that the storyline required a young heroine to play the lead opposite Ranveer Singh. Out of 1,300 auditions, Sara stood out with her fresh, striking presence. Director Aditya Dhar wanted a new face to surprise audiences, and Sara’s talent won her the role.
