Silence is Golden- Islamabad Bans Bajas for Independence Day Celebrations

-

Noisemakers, beware!

Islamabad’s getting serious about keeping the peace as the city gears up for Independence Day. Officials have officially banned the sale and use of bajas, or vuvuzelas, to cut down on the noise and chaos before August 14.

So, if you’re a fan of those loud horns, you might want to find another way to celebrate! Authorities are out in full force, confiscating bajas and making sure vendors and individuals who break the rules face the consequences.

It’s all part of a citywide effort to keep things calm and orderly as the celebrations approaches .
