Punjab Bans Mobile Phones in Colleges

-

In a bold move to restore academic focus, the Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) has banned mobile phone use in colleges across the province, barring both students and teachers from using them inside classrooms.

An official notification sent to all colleges emphasized that excessive phone usage has been disrupting lectures, with students often engaged in social media and teachers’ phone use affecting the learning environment.

To ensure strict implementation, district college directors have been instructed to enforce the ban, with warnings of action against violators.
