Imagine a machine that doesn’t just wash your clothes but also washes you! It may sound like something out of a science fiction movie, but a Japanese company has made it a reality.
What was once an idea at an expo in 1970 has now evolved into a cutting-edge human-washing machine. Let’s take a closer look at this incredible innovation that promises to change the way we think about personal care.
According to the Audity Central website, in 1970, Sanyo Electric (now known as Panasonic) unveiled the world’s first human-washing machine at the Osaka Expo. The concept amazed many at the time. Now, decades later, technology company chairman Yasuaki Aviyama has launched an advanced human-washing machine, developed by a company that specializes in creating bathtubs and shower heads.

The original human-washing machine used large bubbles and plastic balls for cleaning and massage. However, the new version is designed to provide better cleaning by using smaller bubbles, and it is equipped with advanced sensors to precisely adjust the water temperature. Additionally, it features an artificial intelligence (AI) system that detects the user’s mood and helps keep them relaxed.
After lying in the washing machine, it not only cares for your hygiene and provides a massage but also offers soothing music. The machine includes a waterproof display where you can view pictures of serene locations.
This washing machine model is expected to be available for sale in 2025.
