PML-N Plans to Table Resolution for PTI Ban, Accuses Party of Fueling Political Anarchy

-

Tension is escalating in Pakistan following PTI’s recent protests, with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) now calling for strong action against Imran Khan’s party, accusing it of destabilizing the country.

PML-N plans to introduce a resolution in the Balochistan Assembly seeking a ban on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after the violent clashes during its three-day protest, which ended early Wednesday. The resolution, set to be presented by PML-N parliamentary leader Saleem Khosa, labels PTI a “political anarchist” group.

Khosa’s resolution holds PTI accountable for the May 9 unrest, which followed Imran Khan’s arrest and led to attacks on public and military properties. It claims PTI’s “anarchist agenda” has negatively impacted Pakistan’s judiciary, media, and economy.

Khosa also criticized PTI’s attempts to challenge the central government, calling them an effort to undermine state authority. He urged the federal government to impose a ban on the party due to the recent violence in Islamabad.

The PTI protest, which focused on the incarceration of Imran Khan and other political issues, was temporarily suspended after a midnight crackdown by law enforcement. PTI claims eight of its members were killed, while government officials report the deaths of three Rangers and two police officers.
