In a delightful twist, the UK Home Office has issued an official passport to none other than Paddington Bear, the beloved fictional character.
This special passport was granted at the request of the creators of the upcoming film “Paddington in Peru”.
Rob Silva, the film’s co-producer, revealed in an interview with Radio Times that the filmmakers initially reached out to the Home Office seeking a replica passport for the movie. To their surprise, they received an actual passport for Paddington instead.
After years of dedicated care for her disabled husband, he chose to divorce her as soon as he regained his health.
Rob Silva expressed his astonishment at the Home Office’s unexpected sense of humor, noting that no one anticipated such a whimsical move. Interestingly, Paddington is officially classified as a bear on the passport.
The passport features Paddington’s picture, lists his birth date as June 25, and identifies his place of birth as Peru.
Fans should mark their calendars: Paddington in Peru is the third installment in the franchise and is set to hit theaters on January 17 next year.
